Laboratory department:

  1. The reception and phlebotom:
This unit is staffed by a team of professional phlebotomists and laboratory attendants who are continuously trained in biosafety, customer service and communication skills to be able to offer the best comfort and service to our visitors.
  2. Core laboratory:
This department contains hematology and chemical pathology via both manual procedures and fully automated systems performed well trained staff
Every CBC request is performed using the 3-part and 5-part differential hematology analyzer machine (Mindray) and CBC blood film is provided for both normal and abnormal results which are reviewed and reported by our hematologist. All the coagulation test including PT, PTT, TT, fibrinogen, etc… are carried out by semi-automated Stago C 2000 – 1 Coagulation Analyzer. Manual tests performed by our technicians include Coombs test (direct and indirect), urine for Bence Jones protein, bleeding time, ESR, reticulocyte count and others. In addition, we provide different kinds of fluid cell counts and analysis.
A wide range of clinical chemistry analysis is performed on; serum, plasma, CSF and urine by developed automated clinical chemistry analyzers like the BS 200 chemical analyzer, Roche 9180, Easylyte and Cobas e 411. We take pride in the recent addition of the Cl -1000i chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer which can perform immunological, hormonal and viral tests which is used in addition to Elecsys 2010 of Roche. All our automated analyzers are supported and maintained regularly.
  3. Microbiology:
The department of Microbiology is using only conventional techniques taking into account all quality assurance measures to ensure high sensitivity and accuracy of all our results. Because most microbiological techniques require high level of manual expertise, staff is trained and tested continuously in order to maintain and update their skills. This department is able to perform culture and identification of all types of bacteria. For safety reasons all of these tests are performed in class-II biosafety cabinets. Moreover, for quality control of all our bacteriological media and reagents we will introduce soon ATCC (American Type Culture Collection) bacterial strains. We use many reagents, machines, equipment and techniques of leading companies in accordance with the most recent WHO guidelines.
  4. Parasitology:
